A NIGHTINGALE SANG...

(Lisa Bobbert)

Presented by Rhumbelow Theatre, Lisa Bobbert, Evan Roberts and Anthony Stonier take a nostalgic trip down an English country lane A Nightingale Sang... A Tribute to Vera Lynn and remember the songs and stories that won the war.

In March 2017, Dame Vera Lynn will turn 100 years old. To this day, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren are familiar with her warm and beautiful voice. A voice, some say, helped to win a war. A few years ago she was Number One on the hit parade in England, with a re-release of her wartime album Hits of the Blitz. Not many 95 year olds can boast that achievement!

Songs such as We’ll Meet Again, The White Cliffs of Dover, We’ll Gather Lilacs, There’ll Always be an England and, of course, A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square are just a few of the many familiar and favourite songs featured in this tribute to a British National Treasure.
