and Comics Choice Award Winner - Dillan Oliphant who has been touring his
highly successful one man show Oiliphant
in the Room which also staged to packed out houses in Durban over the
festive season. He returns to bring locals some of freshest deadpan one liners
and hit jokes.
Durban’s Arnotte
Payne is coloured man with black parents who was raised by his Indian granny in
Stanger… and he has loads of stories to tell! His debut one-man show last year,
49 Shades of Black, solidified his
standing as firm favourite on the comedy scene in Durban.
The rose among the
thorns, Annalakshmi is making her unique imprint on the comedy scene. The
comedienne describes herself as “an Indian National that has taken refuge in
South Africa, from her Monster Mother-in-law”. She uses singing in a variety of
Indian vernacular as well as Old and contemporary English music to tackle
family, social, economic and political issues. She loves telling stories and
giving her candid commentary or her Indian take on things. Her parodies are
witty, funny and hit home.
Carvin Goldstone is
back from an 11-city National Comedy Tour and performances of his ever popular
one man show, Coloured President, on
the MSC Sinfonia and will bring to stage some his latest musings.
