The Beetsho Quartet will appear at The
Jazzy Rainbow on April 14. The performance is part of the Concerts SA Venue
Circuit which aims to foster a love and support for live music in South African
communities, as well as anchor small and medium sized venues in urban and rural
Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Western Cape.
Bethuel Tshoane is a deep-rooted, up and
coming jazz guitarist from Limpopo with an altered, defined sound to his music.
He obtained his expertise at Music for Africa, Trinity College London in
Limpopo. He has worked with great musicians such as Professor Salim Washington,
Neil Gonsalves and Thulile Mbili.
Currently he is studying towards a BA
Honours Degree in Music at University of KwaZulu-Natal (Howard College). He is
also enrolling for his Grade 5 classical guitar at Music for Africa, Trinity
College London. Beetsho Quartet, featuring Bethuel on guitar, will be
performing a broad repertoire of music that caters for both African and
American jazz lovers. Alongside jazz standards, he will showcase his original
compositions and is accompanied by Stanley Matlou (drums), Dalisu Ndlazi (double
bass) and Leon Scharnick (alto saxophone).
