weekend when the Easter Comedy Festival hits the stage at Sibaya Casino?
The family friendly show boasts a line-up
of some of Durban’s finest comedians including a pair who’re actually closely
related and both doing extremely well on the local comedy scene.
Durban’s own YouTube viral sensation,
Annalakshmi (real name is Anasia Govender) - took audiences by storm with her
parody video of a hit Ed Sheeran song, enticing customers to visit her
restaurant, Chilli Kadhai. The chef-by-day, stand-up-comic-by-night has been
blazing stages across town.
Her son, and rising comedy star in his own
right, Kamz Govender, has advanced in just a few months from open mic gigs to
headlining shows, sharing stages with the likes of John Vlismas, Loyiso Gola
and Dillan Oliphant and performed at the esteemed Cape Town Comedy Club
recently.
The duo will both perform at the Easter
Comedy Festival marking the first time they’ll work the same comedy festival
together.
Added to the heavyweights bringing on the
long weekend laughs are hit comedians Carvin H Goldstone, Arnotte Payne, Mfundo
Ndovela, Darryl Williams, Andrew Hughes and more. The 100% clean and family
friendly show is the ideal way to relax over a bundle of laughs and nostalgia
on the long weekend.
The Easter Comedy Festival runs from April 14
to 16 at Sibaya Casino with shows on Friday and Saturday at 20h00 and on Sunday
