The Winston Churchill
Theatre claims its status as a music hub, by collaborating in bringing music to
the people. “The aim is to develop an interest and appreciation of live music,
take artists back to their communities to create new young audiences for their
craft whilst mentoring and being good role models to the young” says Lu
Dlamini, creative director at The Headroom and coordinator for the Headroom- Concerts
SA events – which works with musicians, promoters, venue owners and audiences,
including initiatives like The Headroom as one of its partners in KZN.
April 21 will see the
Winston Churchill Theatre coming alive once again. The day’s programme for students
and learners only will start with a lunchtime performance by the popular KZN
duo of Qadasi no Maqhinga. These two are a beautiful example of what‘s possible
in a culturally cohesive society.
The performance takes place
on April 21 at 13h00 at the Winston Churchill Theatre, 2 Leinster Road,
Pietermaritzburg. Entrance is free. For more information contact 033 392 2264,
