The
Pietermaritzburg City Orchestra will present Cinema Sounds at the Hilton College Theatre on June 10 and will
showcase some of the most popular music from Hollywood.
Audience
members can look forward to music by the great John Williams, which features on
the soundtrack to a vast array of Hollywood blockbusters like Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Jaws, and E.T. In celebrating 20 years since the release
of James Cameron's epic Titanic in
1997, there will also be a medley by the film's award-winning composer James
Horner.
The
concert will also include a few numbers to please the classical music lovers too,
including Elgar's Nimrod from the Enigma Variations, which was used on the
soundtrack of the movie Australia,
and Shostakovich's Jazz Waltz which
featured in Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide
Shut.
Cinema Sounds takes place at 19h00 on June 10 at the
Hilton College Theatre. The performance is suitable for the whole family. Tickets
