CINEMA SOUNDS

The Pietermaritzburg City Orchestra will present Cinema Sounds at the Hilton College Theatre on June 10 and will showcase some of the most popular music from Hollywood.

Audience members can look forward to music by the great John Williams, which features on the soundtrack to a vast array of Hollywood blockbusters like Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Jaws, and E.T. In celebrating 20 years since the release of James Cameron's epic Titanic in 1997, there will also be a medley by the film's award-winning composer James Horner.

The concert will also include a few numbers to please the classical music lovers too, including Elgar's Nimrod from the Enigma Variations, which was used on the soundtrack of the movie Australia, and Shostakovich's Jazz Waltz which featured in Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut.

Cinema Sounds takes place at 19h00 on June 10 at the Hilton College Theatre. The performance is suitable for the whole family. Tickets R120 (R100 pensioners and children u/12 years) available online via the theatre website at https://www.hiltonfestival.co.za/events/cinema-sounds/
