KGALAGADI SOUL



(Mumba Yachi, Austebza & Sereetsi)

On Wednesday (May 17, 2017), The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music will present Kgalagadi Soul.

Kgalagadi Soul is a collaboration of three top artists who got together in a bid to share what their individual countries has to offer to the world. Mumba Yachi from Zambia (UN Ambassador for Gender Equality), Sereetsi from Botswana (Four-time BOMU awards winner) and Austebza from South Africa (Musical Director of Feather Awards 2016) have in their own rights and space acquired a wealth of experience wowing their fans all over the world on big and small stages.

Kgalagadi Soul will share a bit of what they have released individually in their repertoire performed together using one band for one full and hot set. Their backing band will comprise musicians from Nigeria (Akinwale James Kolesho - lead-guitar), Zimbabwe (Leroy Nyoni - drums) as well as the USA (Terry Lewis - saxophone) which makes this tour a strong collaborative affair.

The concert takes place on May 17 at 18h00 (doors open 17h30) at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music. Tickets R70 (R45 pensioners, R20 students)
