Brainy and
beautiful 19-year-old Umhlanga law student, Azaria Moodley, was crowned Zee TV Miss India South Africa International, at the
glittering pageant held at the Sibaya Entertainment Kingdom Sun Park Dome in
May. 18 beauties hailing predominantly from KZN and Gauteng came together to
showcase fashion, flair and colour that is best associated with the Zee brand.
The glamorous
function which had 800 guests including Zee TV Africa’ s CEO, Harish Goyal in
attendance saw Azaria walking off with the coveted title. She said: “I
still remember sitting in front of the TV as a little girl, in awe, as I
watched powerful women in our country participate in various pageants. In those
moments, I was truly inspired by the passion they displayed for our country,
our people and their courage to simply take a leap of faith and follow their
dreams.”
The ZEE TV Miss
India South Africa International Pageant is a fashion pageant which means that
winner Azaria will now jet off to Mumbai and spend three weeks there in
preparation to represent South Africa at the Indian Princess International
Pageant.
Together with 1st
princess, Kimira Birbal and 2nd princess Kiara Rampaul, they will be afforded
the fabulous opportunity of auditioning for Zee TV, for roles on Zee TV.
Miss India SA has
been around for over six years in South Africa. Since Zee TV officially became
the naming sponsor of the pageant which carries the channel’s name and logo,
the event has seen great success.
