(Rusty Red)

If you've been looking for a musician who can really play the blues, look no further than Durban's own Rusty Red. He will be performing at BBC Beats at the Berea Bowling Club tomorrow night (July 24).

Over the last few years, Rusty Red has been honing his skills with an array of formidable acts such as The Black Lapels and Splashy Fen legends, The Hairy Legged Lentil Eaters. He has even been seen sharing the stage with South African blues/rock guitar guru Larry Amos as well as opening for Dan Patlansky when he was only 18 years old.

Combining solid guitar wizardry with emotive vocals, Rusty Red is wandering dangerously close to the territory of some of the most legendary blues acts of the previous century and, not to mention any names, South Africa's very own home grown legends.

Music will take place from 18h00 to 21h00 at the Berea Bowling Club. People can attend and play bowls from 16h00 (they also have floodlights) There will be members in attendance to assist non bowlers. They also have bowls available.

There is a full bar and a full kitchen. Entrance R50. For more information contact 082 499 8636.

Coming up on July 31 will be Rene Tshiakanyi.
