Showstoppers is a new revue devised and performed by Anthony Stonier featuring show-stopping songs from great musicals. Numbers that literally stopped the show! A Showstopper is an act, song, or performer that receives so much applause that the performance is interrupted. Sometimes, a song that the composer and lyricist feel certain will be a hit simply does not capture the public imagination. Conversely, a song that was never pegged as a hit, becomes the Showstopper!

Songs from Cats, South Pacific, Fiddler On The Roof, Chicago, My Fair Lady, Les Misérables, Showboat, Cabaret, Oklahoma, West Side Story, The Man Of La Mancha and many other musicals will be featured.

Enjoy the wonderful music and lyrics of some of the best loved show-stopping songs of all time!

Presented by Rhumbelow Theatre, Showstoppers runs from July 28 to 30 with shows on July 28 and 29 at 20h00 and on July 30 at 14h00 and 18h30. The venue opens 90 minutes before show for picnic dinner. Tickets R150 (R130 pensioners and tables of eight or more).

Take along food picnic baskets. Braais will be available. There is limited secure parking and booking is essential. A cash bar is available (no alcohol may be brought on to the premises). Rhumbelow Durban is situated at 42 Cunningham Road off Bartle Road in Umbilo.
