(Daniel
Levi & Lerato Xaba)
Blank
Canvas Productions is to present its new production, Saving Grace, at Seabrooke’s Theatre at DHS next month. Founded in
2015 Blank Canvas Productions is an independent theatre company. BCP aims to
create original work and stage it. Their two previous productions at the same
venue last year were It’s Not Your Fault!
and Love?
Written
by James Jooste and co-directed by Jooste and Carey Swan, Saving Grace poses the question - What happens when life takes
everything you love away from you?
When a
freak-accident takes the life of Harriet, she enlists her best friend Grace to
take care of her granddaughter Zoe. At first, these two don't see eye to eye
whatsoever. Over time, the two learn more about each other and bond over their
dark pasts. Zoe eventually meets Parker, a vagabond by choice.
At the
height of their happiness, life comes crashing down around them. It's not about
how you fall. It's about how you pick yourself back up.
Saving
Grace features Lerato Xaba as Zoe Lawrence; Jill Sysum as Grace Harrison and Daniel
Levi as Parker Parker. Sound and lighting is by Dylan Jooste.
