Sbu Mkhonza and friends will be performing
tomorrow (August 5) at The Jazzy Rainbow.
This performance is part of the Concerts SA
Venue Circuit which aims to foster a love and support for live music in the
communities, as well as anchor small and medium sized venues in urban and rural
Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Western Cape.
Louis Sbusiso Mkhonza was born in
Middelburg, Mpumalanga. With his flare and natural love for theatre, he was
engaged in community cultural activities from a young age. He was also part of
the SS Mendi production, under Keeloz
Entertainment Art Academy, as a dancer, lead singer and actor, directed by
Nhlanhla Ngema. He furthered his education from 2010, doing grade 2 and 3 in
music theory and bass guitar at Izithethe Arts Institute, getting distinctions
in both subjects, and grade 6 in vocal studies. He is currently in 2nd year,
Bachelor of Music, at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
The quartet comprises Sbu Mkhonza on bass,
David Smith on piano, Rebekah Doty on drums and Thulile Zama on vocals.
The performance takes place tomorrow (August
5) at 19h00. Entrance R40 including a free drink for students (T&C). The
