Vocal extraordinaire Kerry Cherry will be
taking Pietermaritzburg audiences on a journey that relives the first lady of
song, Ella Fitzgerald.
Alongside her the band will accompany in
the style of the great Erroll Garner with tunes from A Tisket A Tasket to Play
Misty For Me. This show highlights the extraordinary talents these
musicians displayed during their era and is relived now with the band Heather
Groove.
The band is a jazz quartet that displays
the virtuosity of every individual within the band. It features Kerry Cherry (vocals);
David Langley (piano); Mark Momple (bass) and Riley Giandhari (drums).
Presented by Rhumbelow, The Ella and Erroll
tribute show at the Allan Wilson Shellhole on August 9 is guaranteed to lift
spirits and give all a fun-filled performance with thrills throughout to
entertain all ages.
Performances take place on August 9 at
14h00 and 18h30. The venue opens 90 minutes before show for picnic dinner. Tickets
R150 (R130 pensioners). Bring food picnic baskets and a bar is available (no
alcohol may be brought on to the premises. Limited secure parking available.
