Now that the 6th instalment of the annual
Durban Fashion Fair is over, designers have the opportunity to participate in
another leading fashion event in the city and show what they are made of!
EThekwini Municipality invites all
designers within the eThekwini Municipal area to be part of the Essence Young
Designer competition.
Only selected designers will be required to
present in front of the celebrity panel on September 29 at the Beauty &
Style pavilion hosted at the ICC. Once designers have met the criteria, the
selected designers will be interviewed upon their story board presentation
before the top two winners will be announced.
The 1st prize will be R5,000 towards a
sewing machine of their choice, admission to the 2018 Durban Fashion Fair
Mentorship Programme, an exhibition space allocated at the 2018 DFF Fashion
Pavilion and a whole clothes rail allocated at the DFF Emporium Pop Up Shop at
uMlazi Mega City.
The runner up will receive R3,000 towards a
sewing machine of the choice as well as admission to the 2018 DFF Mentorship
Programme and exhibition space.
