I GRANDI TENORI EVENTS

The existence of the I Grandi Tenori is to ensure that there is a unified voice for young people in the field of art, with a profusion focus given to classical and opera artists. Without a doubt, the main and important role of IGT is to advocate for the employment of opera graduates through staging concerts, opera extracts and competitions that will yield economic-benefit for solemnly these graduates.

Under the banner of KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education supported by Ikusasa Le Africa Foundation & eThekwini Municipality, I Grandi Tenori mentors high school pupils against social ills. The team also harbours musical masterclasses specifically on technical singing, theory, career-guidance and of course general mentorship.

“While travelling across all borders of this country embroiding best classical performance we fuel this vehicle by cultivating our limited skills and knowledge to our younger brothers and sisters in secondary schools. Especially in the province of KwaZulu-Natal (our founding province) so that they too can unleash their potential, creativity and innovation because we believe that the future of Africa is in the capable hands of us as the youth!” say the organisers.

Following a benefit concert, My Freedom is My Pride, held Durban City Hall earlier this year which raised R56,000 towards assisting matriculants with tertiary-related expenses, I Grandi Tenori presents yet another community development programmes called Let Me Sing opera competition under the theme Changing Lives and Spring Evening Concert powered by ILAF & KZN DoE & UKZN.

This competition will see 25 learners from all corners of the province battling for cash prize of R17,500. In the quest of changing lives, this competition will also award one full bursary to one lucky learner. Let no deserving learner be deprived an opportunity to study because of finances!
