The Gypsy Strings will perform at the
Tatham Art Gallery in Pietermaritzburg on November 12.
This vibrant ensemble features five
musicians who are all members of the acclaimed KZN Philharmonic Orchestra. They
perform a colourful and exciting selection of traditional Bulgarian, Rumanian,
Russian and Greek music in gypsy style. The quintet is led by Bulgarian-born
violinist Ralitza Matcheva with Annamaria D’Andrea (viola), Ralitza Todorova (cello),
Roberto Palma (violin) and the inspirational and innovative French
percussionist Stephane Pechoux. (60 mins).
