The Howard College Theatre at the
University of KZN will present an African Music & Dance Lunch Hour Concert
on November 8.
This semester's Lunch Hour Concert at
Howard College is in two parts. The first features original isicathamiya
compositions by the first year African Music and Dance 1B class.
The second part presents work of AMD
Ensembles 1, 2, 3 under the theme: Tihosi
Tavakhali This is a Tsonga statement describing the contributions of the
olden day kings and queens towards the liberation of Africa. The three ensembles
present a diverse repertoire drawn from pipes, dances and percussion rhythms
taking the audience through a memorable celebration of our 'Tihosi tavakhali' ensuring that their legacy lives on forever.

Tavakhali takes place at 12h15 on November 8 at the
Howard College Theatre.
