CALL FOR ENTRIES: YOUNG PERFORMER AWARDS 2018

Deadline: February 9, 2018

National Eisteddfod of South Africa has announced that entries are open for the 15th National Eisteddfod Young Performer Awards competition. Founded by the National Eisteddfod Academy, this competition provides a high-level national platform where the best young performers in music, dance and drama, as identified at various festivals and competitions, can compete and showcase their talents. This year participants stand a chance to win up to R100,000 in prizes.

“The achievements, locally and internationally, of previous winners and top achievers in this competition, are testimony to the high level at which this competition has been presented since it was founded 15 years ago,” says Dr Francois van den Berg, CEO of National Eisteddfod Academy.

The Young Performer Awards competition takes place over four elimination rounds, and participants are adjudicated by a panel of experts in the following categories:

- Speech and drama
- Dance
- Classical and crossover music (vocal and instrumental)
