RHUMBELOW DURBAN RENOVATION

The Rhumbelow Theatre in Durban has a structural problem with the safety regarding the roof. It has been inspected by engineers for safety and this will mean that the roof rafters will need to be completely replaced. This is a money and time issue. An application for funding has been submitted by the Rhumbelow MOTHS to the MOTH Province.

All shows that are booked for Durban will be moved to another temporary venue - St Cyprians Church Hall, 603 Umbilo Road in Glenwood.

Rhumbelow has partnered with St Cyprians and with Sunshine Pre-School (they are there in the day).

So all Umbilo, Durban, shows will be held at St Cyprians Hall. The Moths and St Cyprians have a long standing relationship and work together on many projects. There will be the normal Rhumbelow Bar available and you can bring picnics or still buy Rhumbelow’s delicious burgers and chips.

Roland Stansell, who runs Rhumbelow Theatre, says: “We have been running the theatre at the Rhumbelow MOTH Hall for some 16.5 years. We will, for your safety, need to fix/replace the entire roof structure. If you are in a position that you wish to make any donations towards this please email me on roland@stansell.za.net or make a direct deposit into the MOTH bank account.”
