SYNERGY

(Vivienne & Ian von Memerty)

Brilliantly versatile performer, Ian von Memerty takes to the stage during this romantic Valentine period with his one true love, Vivienne, his wife of 26 years, in their new show Synergy at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre from February 14 to 18.

Billed as the most glamorous show of the year, it features the ‘King of Versatility’ and the ‘Queen of Dance’ as they explore glorious partnerships in this dance, comedy musical. Dazzling audiences with fabulous costumes from around the globe, beautiful musical arrangements by Debbie Quicke topped off with moody lighting by David Limbert, the show is elegant, exciting entertainment in its purest form.

The von Memertys share the stage with respected keyboard maestro Roelof Colyn, who was recently in Durban for the hit musical revue, A Handful of Keys. Not allowing Colyn to have all the fun on the keys, Ian will be sharing time at piano!

Husband and wife take their journey of 26 years of life`s struggles and creative partnership and bring fresh insight into the Synergy that ignites when two people work as one.

Synergy takes the musical magic of Lennon and McCartney (Yesterday, Hey Jude, Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da), the effervescent joy of the Sherman Brothers (Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, The Aristocats), the glamour of the Gershwin Brothers (I Got Rhythm, Summertime, Embraceable You), the show-business sizzle of Kander and Ebb (Chicago, Cabaret, New York New York), the sophisticated drama of Desiree and Frederick in A Little Night Music (Send In the Clowns, You Must Meet My Wife) and the laughter-filled poignancy of Tevye and Golde in Fiddler On the Roof (Sunrise Sunset, Do You Love Me? If I Were a Rich Man) to create a beautiful, poignant onstage production this Valentine’s season.

Synergy runs at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre from February 14 to 18, 2018, with shows from Wednesday to Saturday at 19h30 and Sunday at 15h00. There will also be a matinee on February 17 at 15h00. Tickets range from R130 to R145 (R100 concessions) booked through Computicket or cash at the door.
