The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music
welcomes back SA's premier comedy and jazz series on its 5th edition tomorrow (March
20, 2018) at 18h00.
The 90min outtake is one of the best rated
and best attended evening entertainment experiences in Durban. Currently in
town from his one man tour, Troy Tesla will anchor a new line-up jam packed
with the best of the city's comedians & jazz musicians.
On the jokes side:
Andrew Hughes - one of the most sought
after of Durban's headliners. This family friendly act has toured South Africa
and other SADC countries!
Rory Petzer: comedian / entertainer - most
notable for his machinations in satire & stunts as a presenter and producer
at East Coast Radio.
Nonto Mondlane Miya - KZN's queen of the
funny, Winner of the Best Indigenous Comedian SATMA Awards, and advocate for
women in comedy. Did i mention she legendarily funny as well?
On the Jazz side:
UKZN School of Music students.
Guest artists include Mmeli Magwaza- a
household name in the local poetry scene and regular attraction at annual
uMbele Wethu Cultural Festival as well as Nonhle Mkhize Indoni, a bilingual
poet and public & radio appearances.
Jokes and Jazz takes place tomorrow (March 20,
2018) at 18h00 at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music (CJPM), Level 2,
Shepstone Building, University of Kwa Zulu Natal, Howard College Campus. General
entry R80 (R50 pensioners, R25 students with a student card). Doors open at 17h30.
