STEVE MANDY FABRIC PAINTING WORKSHOP

Steve Mandy will be running a Fabric Painting Breakfast and Workshop at the Artplus Umhlanga Store.

Mandy made his way into the art world by accident. At the age of 41, he discovered his talent for drawing. He quickly manoeuvred his way through the art circles to have his first solo exhibition in 2009.

During his exploration into the new talent, he decided to paint the images he was marketing in galleries on tee shirts to increase awareness. This act was noticed by fashion stylist, Kevin Ellis who quickly realised the potential of the novel product in the fashion world. The very first venture was an entry into the J&B Met which went on to win the prestigious event. From there on Steve became increasingly popular at fashion events participating in Durban Fashion Week, Design Indaba, Johannesburg Fashion Week and Mercedes Fashion Week and Audi Fashion Week.

In 2013, he was invited to take part in Africa Fashion Week London where his new direction of art and fashion became an instant hit.

He has appeared on Top Billing twice, Selematunzi, Studio 53, CNN, and more recently Arise TV News which is aired in USA, Europe and Northern Africa

Right now he showcases and markets his products and talent at popular restaurants in Durban.

The Steve Mandy Fabric Workshop and Breakfast takes place on April 6 at the Artplus Umhlanga Store, 32 Solstice Road, Umhlanga Ridge.

The cost is 250.00.
