The next instalment of Music Revival's
monthly concerts at the Tatham Art Gallery in Pietermaritzburg includes Claude
Bolling’s delightful Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio. This light-hearted
and infectious concoction of jazz and classical styles by the contemporary
French jazz composer Bolling features Sabine Baird - Principal Flute with the
KZN Philharmonic Orchestra with Christopher Duigan at the piano.
Percussionist Stephane Pechoux (drums) and
Yura Litvinenko (bass), both members of the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra, join them in the jazz trio.
The first part of the programme includes a
sequence of beautiful melodies
and popular flute solos including Dance
of the Blessed Spirits, Sicillienne by Gabriel Faure, and the jaunty Badinerie by J.S Bach.
The concert takes place at 11h30 on April 22,

The Tatham Art Gallery is situated opposite
the Town Hall in Chief Albert Luthuli Street, Pietermaritzburg. It is open from
