For their next concert, Friends of Music
will present a collaboration of four leading musicians from the KZN Philharmonic
in a balanced and very entertaining programme centred around Mozart and
Beethoven for flute quartet and string trio.
The featured musicians are David Snaith (viola);
Sabine Baird (flute); Petia Koleva (violin) and Marguerite Spies (cello)
The programme will include Beethoven’s
Serenade in D, opus 8 for violin, viola and cello; Haydn’s "Sunrise"
quartet in B flat for flute, violin, viola and cello and Handel/Halvorsen’s
Passacaglia in g minor for violin and viola as well as the Mozart quartet in D
KV 285 flute, violin, viola and cello.
The concert will take place on May 29 at 19h30
at the Durban Jewish Centre 44 KE Masinga (Old Fort) Road, Durban. Tickets R120
(R100 FOM Members) at the door. There is safe parking.
