Westville Boys' High School is staging its
annual musical revue show, Disco Inferno,
in August 2018, and is looking for talented young men and women to perform in
the show. The show, directed by Luke Holder and Fiona Barnes, will run for 14
performances, and some rehearsals will take place during the June/July
holidays.
Please note that only boys who attend Westville
Boys' High School will be eligible, but girls from Durban and surrounds are
encouraged to audition.
Auditions will take place at the Roy
Couzens Theatre at WBHS as follows:
SINGING AUDITIONS:
May 8 and 9, 2018, from 14h30 to 17h30.
Singers are required to prepare any song
that shows off their range and performance ability. No consideration will be
given to candidates who do not display strong performance skills as well as
vocal ability. All backing tracks are to be presented on a flash disk, in mp3
format. Facilities for piano accompaniment will be made available, but sheet
music must be provided. Candidates will be auditioned on a first-come,
first-served basis.
DANCING AUDITIONS
May 8 and 9, 2018, from 19h00 to 21h00.
Dance candidates are not required to
prepare anything, and will be auditioned in groups. You are required to be
present for the entire duration of the dance audition on the evening of your
choice. All dance candidates are reminded to dress appropriately for the
audition.
Callback auditions (singing and dance) will
be held on May 11 from 15h00 to 17h00. Successful candidates will be notified
of their callback on Thursday (May 10) via sms.
Please note that all successful singing
candidates will be required to learn some basic choreography, and all
successful dancing candidates will have to sing along in the large ensemble
numbers.
