After a successful International Debut
Concert, I Grandi Tenori returned home to present the 2nd Annual Let Me Sing
Schools Solo Opera Competition at the University of KwaZulu-Natal Howard
College Jubilee Hall on September 29 and 30, 2018.
The competition covered Western arias from Mozart
as well as South African arias from a wide range of South African composers
rendered by 24 learners representing their 12 districts across the province of
KZN.
Let Me Sing emanated from the visionary I
Grandi Tenori's dream to see young people creating a sustainable future for
themselves, leaving none of their potential underutilised. Development and
support is their ultimatum!!
This year I Grandi Tenori welcomed the
involvement of NLCSA, eThekwini Municipality, UKZN, Ikusasa Leafrika Foundation
as well as KZN Department of Education as stakeholders playing a leading role
towards this noble course of community development.
