The KZNSA (KwaZulu-Natal Society of Arts) has announced the theme for
the 2019 KZNSA Members’ Exhibition which is titled UMHLABA | LAND - Kufikani engqondweni noma ezandleni uma ucabanga
ngomhlaba? | What comes to mind, to hand, when you think about LAND?
Paid up members of the KZNSA are invited to submit a work, without
charge, to be included in the annual Members’ Exhibition which will be held in
the Main, Mezzanine, Park and Media Galleries.
The 2019 Members Exhibition runs from March 12 to April 7, 2019. Opening
and prize giving will take place on March 12 at 17h30.
Work should be delivered to the KZNSA Gallery, 166 Bulwer Road,
Glenwood, Durban, on the following dates:
March 7: 09h00 – 17h00
March 8: 09h00 – 17h00
March 9: 09h00 – 13h00
No late submissions can be accepted.
All mediums are welcome: Painting, drawing, mixed media, photography,
collage, sculpture, ceramics, performance, sound, film, multi-disciplinary,
etc. Members may submit one piece each.
All submissions are eligible for the Joan Emanuel Family Trophy and a
share of the R20,000 prize money. Independent judges will award 1st
(R10,000), 2nd (R5,000) and 3rd (R2,500) places. In
addition, the KZNSA exhibition sub-committee award a commendation for an outstanding
piece. KZNSA prize: R2,500
