Black Orchid Burlesque presents an
authentic burlesque show celebrating the true essence of the art form, the tease,
at the Rhumbelow Theatre at Tina’s Hotel in Kloof from April 3 to 7, 2019.
Featuring professional performing artistes
from around the country, this show is set to dazzle Durban with something they
have never seen before. Immerse yourself in the glitz and glamour of yesteryear
as they take you on a journey of tastefully titillating dance acts and glitter
galore.
Hosted by South Africa’s Original Dame of
Burlesque, Diva Disastar, this show promises bold sensuality with a touch of
sophistication and a few good laughs. Showcasing some of Johannesburg and Cape
Town’s best of burlesque and boylesque, audiences can expect the unexpected at
this breath-taking extravaganza of feathers and fun. Call the babysitter and
put on your favourite high heels for a cheeky night of classy adult
entertainment you’ll never forget!
Black Orchid Burlesque is the pioneering
force behind the introduction of burlesque to a South African audience.
Starting in Cape Town in 2007, they strive to promote their art form across the
country by educating people about exploring self-expression and body positivity
through performance art.
“We are very excited to present the first
authentic burlesque showcase of this kind in KZN and look forward to bringing
our burly flair to Durban,” says a spokesperson.
Black Orchid Burlesque has performances
from April 3 to 7 with shows from Wednesday to Saturday at 20h00 and on Sunday
