Friends of Music’s next recital will take place on March 19, 2019, and will feature pianist Bryan Wallick.

American born Wallick is recognised as one the leading virtuoso pianists of his generation. He is a graduate of the Julliard School in New York, where he was the first person to receive both an Honours Diploma and an accelerated Master’s Degree.

After graduation, he received a scholarship for post-graduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London and was the recipient of the Associated Board International Scholarship, receiving a Post-Graduate Diploma with Distinction. He completed his Doctorate at the University of Pretoria in 2004.

His programme will include César Franck’s Prelude Chorale and Fugue, Robert Schumann’s Symphonic Etudes, Samuel Barber’s Piano Sonata and the Don Juan Fantasy by Franz Liszt.

The recital will take place at 19h30 on March 19, at the Durban Jewish Centre, KE Masinga (Old Fort) Road, Durban. Tickets R120 (FOM Members R100) available at the door)
