Dave Monks and Marion Loudon will transport
audiences at the Rhumbelow Theatre in Durban back in time to one of the
greatest music eras of all time, Rock and Roll, with their new show called, I Love Rock & Roll.
This duo entertains superbly in this
carefully considered collection of nostalgic and popular 60’s, 70’s 80’s rock
and roll favourites. The show features covers of more than 20 different artists
which include: The Beatles, Elvis, Queen, The Travelling Wilburys, Britney
Spears, The Big Bopper, Status Quo, Cher, and Cliff Richard, and so many more.
Loudon’s versatile vocal range and on-stage
performance will keep all audiences captivated especially throughout her
renditions of: The Shoop Shoop Song, I
Love Rock & Roll, and Queen’s worldwide smash hit Crazy Little Thing Called Love, which was recently voted as one of
the best rock and roll songs of all time.
Monks leads the show with powerful vocal
and multi-instrumental collaboration as he brings his own flair to some of the
world’s most-loved and top-of-the-charts rock and roll hits. A few favourites
on his repertoire include: Status Quo, Chuck Berry, Fats Domino and Travelling
Wilburys.
The couple are no strangers to the world of
entertainment in KZN and throughout the country. They perform individually as
well as this dynamic duo. They’ve graced a magnitude of stages, recorded voice-overs
for television and radio commercials and Monks has also written a handful of
top retail brands commercial soundtracks.
This brand-new show consists of a wide
variety of famous 60’s singalongs and one-of-a-kind strategically composed and
rehearsed medleys which enhance the flow of the performance and transport you
back to the swinging 60s while making you wish the songs would never end as you
reminisce about ‘those days’ and the most explosive times in music history.
I
Love Rock & Roll comes alive in this
celebration with more than three decades of music. There is guaranteed to be
more than one song that will get everyone’s hands clapping and toes tapping.

I
Love Rock & Roll runs from March 8 to 10, 2019,
with performances on Friday and Saturday at 20h00 and Sunday at 14h00. The
venue opens 90 minutes before show for picnic dinner.
Tickets R150 (R130 pensioners, students
with a valid student card and tables of eight or more) R75 for under 13s..
Take along food picnic baskets. Braais will
be available. There is limited secure parking and booking is essential. A cash
bar is available (no alcohol may be brought on to the premises). Rhumbelow
