KZN FILM COMMISSION SEEKING JUDGES


The KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission is seeking to appoint credible, suitably qualified individuals to provide their expertise in the judging panel for the Annual Simon "Mabhunu" Sabela Film and Television Awards 2019 & 2020.

SCOPE OF WORK AND DELIVERABLES:
Judging all entries received in the respective category that the entrants are entered for in the following judging panels: 

-Filtration judging panel (which includes feature and micro budget films and television productions)
-Final Judging panel
-Chairpersons Judging Panel

Judges will receive judging packs to view all entrants  prior to commencement of judging, however must be available for a maximum two day (Saturday & Sunday) judging process to be held at the KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission offices in Musgrave, Durban from 09h00 to 18h00.

Each judging panel group will need to appoint a chairperson of the panel who will be required to compile a report to the Overall Chairperson of the Simon "Mabhunu" Sabela Film & Television Awards within three days of completion of the judging panel chaired.

All travel logistics (if individual selected to be part of the judging panel is from outside the province of KwaZulu-Natal but within the country) will be handled by the KZNFC. Preference will be given to KwaZulu-Natal based individuals.
All appointed individuals will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement between themselves and the KZNFC.
 
TIME FRAMES:
 The panels will be in place for a period of two (2) years.
Judging will take place as of May 5, 2019, to June 7, 2019, in the respective categories. However, judges must avail themselves during the week of judging of respective category on a weekend - maximum two days (Saturday & Sunday) for category group judging that will take place from 09h00 to 18h00, however each panel may be requested to continue to a later time than scheduled.

PLEASE NOTE:
Bid for the appointment of the individuals will be evaluated in accordance of number of years' experience in the industry and number of years' experience in judging of film & television awards / film festivals.
Current residence will be evaluated.
Applicant must submit a CV, motivational letter, including three reference letters from clients /organisations whom the applicant has provided a similar service to.
Preference will be given to an individual who has directed or produced a Feature Film / Made for TV / Micro Budget Film
Durban based applicant (individual must provide lease agreement / utility bill / Councillors proof of residence as proof of being KwaZulu-Natal based and shall be throughout the judging process).
