The KwaZulu-Natal Midlands Matric Art Exhibition 2019 will be opened on March
6 at 18h00 by Michelle Rall in the Main Exhibition Room of the Tatham Art
Gallery in Pietermaritzburg. This exhibition is one the Tatham’s annual
highlights and is taking place earlier than usual this year. The young artists
who take art as a Matric subject always produce fascinating new ideas and
methods.
Most of the works were pre-selected last year, from a combination of the
best art works produced in about 18 schools in and around Pietermaritzburg, including
a school for the deaf. The final selection is done with an external selector.
The exhibition will run until May 26, 2019, at 17h00. The Tatham Art
Gallery is situated opposite the Town Hall in Chief Albert Luthuli Street,
Pietermaritzburg. It is open from Tuesdays to Sundays from 10h00 to 17h00. Café
Tatham is open on Saturdays. Safe parking with a car guard available. More
