The next in Baroque 2000’s Third Series
concert 2019 will take place on June 2, 2019, in Mariannhill.
Titled a visual and acoustic Journey Through Italy it is featured at
the occasion of the National Italian Republic Day.
A large video screen will show images of
Baroque churches, monuments and buildings across Italy.
The programme will include Platti’s Ricercata
No 1 in D major; Scarlatti’s Sonata for harpsichord with soloist Erik Dippenaar;
Stradella’s Sonata for violin solo & basso in D minor; Albinoni’s Concerto
for oboe in D minor with soloist Margrit Deppe, and Vivaldi’s Concerto for molti instrumenti in F major
RV 569 (for violin solo, two oboes, two horns, strings and continuo)
The concert takes place on June 2 at 11h30
at the Church of the Mariannhill Monastery. Tickets R150 at the door. Ample and
safe parking available. The Monastery Tea Garden is open for coffee/tea and
light lunches.
