The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music will
presents the 3 O’s - David Langley (piano), Stanley Matlou (drums) and Logan
Byrne (Contrabass) - on Wednesday May 8, 2019.
Jazz 3 O's is a spin on Jazz trio set up in
most jazz bands. Led by pianist David Langley, the 3 O's are accomplished
artists as solo performers coming together to preserve the true art of 1950s –
2000 jazz styles. All members hold university degrees in music to bring you
Swing, BeBop, Hardbop, Cool , Free, Modern, Latin and electric fusion Jazz
music are all respectfully keep in its form with an addition of the modern
music adapted to the style.
The music of the band is soothing and can
be technically challenging. A definite first choice for the sophisticated class
as well as the getting down clientele looking for something classy during
dinner and something joyful to get up and dance to with a partner.
The 3 O’s will perform on May 8 at 18h00 (doors
open at 17h30) at The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music (CJPM), Level 2,
Shepstone Building at UKZN Howard College Campus. General admission R80 (R50
pensioners, R25 students).
