The Arts & Culture Trust (ACT), the Dramatic, Artistic and Literary Rights Organisation (DALRO) and Nedbank are proud to make an opportunity for higher education funding available to young South African performers and visual artists through the ACT | DALRO | Nedbank Scholarships Programme.

The programme is for grade 12 learners and individuals under age 25 who have completed grade 12 and not currently registered for study towards an undergraduate degree.

Young people intending on studying towards a performing arts or visual arts qualification at a South African tertiary institution are invited to apply.

Performing arts applicants are required to complete the online registration form and then audition in the singing, dance, acting and/or musical theatre categories.

Visual arts applicants are required to submit a portfolio of works as part of the online application process.

Countrywide auditions for the 2019 ACT | DALRO | Nedbank Performing Arts Scholarships will be held from Monday, June 17 to Friday, July 5, 2019. Three finalists in each category will be invited to Johannesburg for one week’s tutelage from coaches and industry professionals in the various auditioned disciplines. This will then culminate in a final showcase after which an independent panel of judges will award a winner in each category.

Administered by ACT, funded by DALRO and the Nedbank Arts Affinity and supported by The Market Theatre, the 2019 ACT | DALRO | Nedbank Scholarships are in their tenth year of existence- a milestone year which coincides with ACT’s 25th year of existence.
