(Christopher
Duigan, Elena Kerimova & Boris Kerimov)
Music Revival’s latest monthly KZN tour features
pianist Christopher Duigan, joined by violinist Elena Kerimova and cellist
Boris Kerimov as the Kerimov Trio, along with David Snaith (viola) and Jura
Litvinenko (bass) in a performance of Schubert’s evergreen ‘Trout Quintet’.
This programme, presented at the Durban
Jewish Centre in KE Masinga Road on June 25 at 19h30, in collaboration with
Friends of Music and the KZNPO players, will also feature Beethoven’s Septet.
Tickets will be available at the door, and safe parking provided.
The first part of the programme, comprising
Schubert’s Trout Quintet, will be reprised at the Tatham Art Gallery in
Pietermaritzburg on June 30 at 11h30, and again on July 2 at 19h30 at St Agnes
Church in Kloof. At both of these venues, the Kerimov Trio will ring back the
changes, recalling their early formation when they won a popular following in
the founding days of Music Revival with numerous classical concerts and cafe
performances across KZN, performing Eastern- European folk music.
For these performances they include several
of their most popular light classics including Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No 5, Skylark,
Hora di Mars, Monti’s Czardas , Massenet’s Meditation from Thais, Black Eyes, The Swan, Caccini’s Ave Maria
and more.
Booking for the latter two concerts is
preferred, through booking@musicrevival.co.za or on 083 417 4473 (sms or
WhatsApp only).
