Rockwood Theatre, Durban’s premier live
entertainment venue at Sibiya, brings audiences some of the biggest pop stars
of all time.
Some are still going strong, years and
years after they got their start, others sadly not, but their music still is.
Not only have their songs and presence graced us for years, but their iconic
status has weathered the music storm, which makes them Megastars! Megastars of Pop is a brand new Rockwood
Theatre production paying tribute to these phenomenal artists.
The show offers a journey of hits by Elton John,
Pink, Elvis, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. These artists
may have come from different times and different backgrounds, but never before
has their music been staged together.
From heart pumping pop to soulful melodies
and from instrumental maestros to outrageous flamboyance, Megastars of Pop provides a musical extravaganza for all, young and
old. Allow hits such as Candle In The
Wind, Crocodile Rock, Sacrifice and Your
Song by the evergreen Elton John and Whitney Houston’s power hits I Will Always Love You, I Wanna Dance With
Somebody, How Will I Know, Didn’t We Almost Have It All, transport you to a
musical dream world where you won’t want to awaken from!
Then just as you thought it is over, rock
to Elvis classics Jailhouse Rock, Hound Dog,
Blue Suede Shoes, Can’t Help Falling In Love, Suspicious Minds, Heartbreak
Hotel, All Shook Up and Little Less
Conversation. If your feet aren’t yet itching to get dancing, allow Tina
Turner to strut her stuff with some her greatest hits such as Simply The Best, Proud Mary, We Don’t Need
Another Hero and What’s Love Got to
Do With It.
Finally, Megastars of Pop pays tribute to arguably the world’s most creative
artists, Pink and Michael Jackson. Their hits Perfect, Just Give Me A Reason, Get The Party Started, Raise Your
Glass, Billy Jean, Thriller, Black or White, Bad, Earth Song, Man In The Mirror
and We Are The World have echoed
around the globe, so when they hit the stage, the show is powered to new
heights!
