One of the highlights of the winter
entertainment calendar at Sibaya Casino & Entertainment Kingdom is the
vibrant tribute show to Bollywood legends, Rajesh Khanna and Kishore Kumar.
The showcase, A Tribute to Legends, celebrates the life and times of these iconic
entertainers in a song and dance spectacular featuring a talented cast of
performers. A Tribute to Legends will
be staged at Sibaya’s iZulu Theatre for two nights only on 19 and 20 July 2019.
Rajesh Khanna, a Bollywood actor, film producer
and politician, is often referred to as the "first superstar" and the
"original superstar" of Indian cinema. He starred in 15 consecutive
solo hit films in the period 1969 to 1971. Kishore Kumar was an Indian film
playback singer, actor, lyricist, composer, producer and director. He is
considered one of the most successful playback singers of the Bollywood film
industry.
Impersonator and look-alike, Mahesh Kumar,
assumes the role of Rajesh Khanna in this colourful tribute show. With
realistic looks and original dance moves, Khanna’s presence will almost be
tangible as Kumar entertains guests.
Singer, Chetan Rana from India, who performed on
Sony TV for the show, K for Kishore,
finishing in the top two and who has also performed in Durban for previous sell
out shows, will once again be back. He will take audiences on a nostalgic
journey back in time to celebrate the music from the movies.
A Tribute to Legends will also feature
two local female singers Eshara Maharaj and Seleena Mohanlal. Musical backing
for the concert will be by South Africa’s leading show band, the Conchords,
while three dance groups will enthrall the audiences with dazzling dance
displays.
A Tribute to Legends has performances at the
iZulu Theatre at Sibaya on July 19 and 20 at 20h00. Tickets R130, R150, R200
and R250 from Computicket, Shoprite/Checkers or Sibaya Box Office.
