Relive the memories of the 80s to Now at
Rockwood Theatre
August brings a journey through time to the
Rockwood Theatre at Sibaya. Featuring some of the most memorable hits that have
defined poignant moments from the last four decades, 80s to Now promises to “bring it all back”.
“80s
to Now will take you through the memories of the past four decades, the
highs, the lows and the massive hits that became the soundtrack to our lives.
Relive your moments and some of the biggest events of our time with 80s to Now,” says Janet Pillay, PR and

Space shuttles, video arcades, Live and
Band Aid concerts, the Berlin wall crumbling, Jane Fonda’s workout videos,
Human League, Wham!, Depeche Mode, Bob Marley and so much more defined the 80s.

The 90s are remembered for launch of the
World Wide Web, Nelson Mandela’s release, South Africa’s first free election
and winning the Rugby World Cup, with songs from Bon Jovi, Alanis Morissette
and the Backstreet Boys sounding on the airwaves.
The 00s to today have been fast-paced and
technology-driven, giving us Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, tablets and smart
phones. Luckily, music followed this fast-paced trend and with the Robbie
Williams, Adele, Jason Derulo, Pitbull and Meghan Trainor to name just a few,
made sure our seat belts were fastened for this decade’s ride.
80s
to Now is jam-packed with hits from the 80s such as
Break my stride; Wake me up before you go
go; Just died in your arms; Total eclipse; Careless whisper; No woman, no cry
and more. Bringing back high school memories are 90s classics like Bed of roses, Everybody, I want it that way
and One hand in my pocket while songs
from the 00s, like Rock DJ, Kiss the sky
and Send my love will have audiences
dancing in the aisles.
