If Not Now…When? and A
Hymn to Her are two exhibitions in one by artist Jane Digby taking place at
the Simbithi Country Club opening on August 28 at 18h00.
The exhibition If Not Now…When? will show about 40 of Digby’s more recent
work, with a few signature pieces. It will consist of large portraits, scapes
as well as other subjects reflecting her life.
“Whilst the exhibition A Hymn to
Her is a reflective response to my journey with breast cancer.
Unfortunately, everyone’s lives are touched by cancer these days, so my hope is
to create a space of reflection, understanding and empathy towards those that
have gone through the disease, those that are currently and those that will,”
Digby explains.
She adds: “Not only for the patients but also for the loved ones, carers
and physicians.”
Her fellow artists and friends Dee Donaldson, Sue Whitmore, Carol
Hayward Fell and Bongikhosi Mabhena will also have works on show.
The exhibitions run from August 28 to September 1, 2019, at the Simbithi
Country Club on the KZN North Coast. There will be walkabouts each day at
10h30.
