Liberty Midlands Mall, in partnership with
The Witness, will be hosting The #LoveLocal Festival from August 30 to September
1 and promises to be another year of jam-packed local flavour. Featuring
Pietermaritzburg’s local favourites – from locally-grown produce, handmade
jewellery, clothing, accessories and homeware, all the way through to your
favourite foods, the Artisanal Marketplace is sure to delight!
Market places are social, alive and vibrant
and the Artisanal Marketplace at Liberty Midlands Mall will be no different.
Shoppers that visit the festival will be able to meet local crafters and buy
small-batch, ethically produced goods, made proudly in Pietermaritzburg and
surrounding areas.
"There are so many beautiful products
being produced by the hands of local residents and we wanted to provide a
showcase for these small producers,” says Brian Unsted, Liberty Two Degrees’
Asset Management Executive for Liberty Midlands Mall.
This year’s market place includes a total
of 16 stalls, that of Squirrels Nuts, Georgie Girl Biscuits, Wannada (sauces,
vegetable chips and pork crackling), Zan Zan Décor (African décor and
beadwork), ramJAMys Artison Food (artisan chutneys, curd and pickles),
Chocolate Heaven, Tasha’s Fudge, Crushed (wood smoked black pepper and
artisanal spices), Original Biltong Steak, The Cake House, Dream Catchers, Cob
and Pickle (wooden furniture), The Nguni Guy (featuring two stands that of
Nguni hides and smokeless fire pit), Karkloof Canopy Tours and Lush Handmade
and Lewmonlicious (bakery food items).

of this nature, as it allows is to able to work with local community and
celebrate everything we love about Pietermaritzburg and its surrounding areas.”
The #LoveLocal Festival’s Artisanal
Marketplace will run for the duration of the festival, and will be located in
the Mall’s Centre Court. Entrance is free and everyone is welcome.
