The
MJ Experience is a Parish community fundraiser to
take the Holy Family Super-Youth to Roselands Adventure Centre in the Midlands to
expose them to nature and engage in Praise and Worship, showing them the
positive and Godly side to life aside from the drugs, alcohol abuse and
gangsterism that youngsters are exposed to nowadays.
2019 marks the 10th Anniversary of Michael
Jackson's death and The MJ Experience
showcases his greatest hits and is a way of getting South Africa’s youth off
the streets and showcasing their God-given singing and dancing skills whilst
learning to deal with teenage struggles.
The
MJ Experience is devised and directed by Hamish Kyd
and offers an exciting line-up of singers and entertainers including Josh
Philander, Leveen Kyd, Jordan van Staaden and Praline Ross. Choreography is by
Daisy Spencer and vocal arrangements by Praline Ross.
Hamish Kyd is passionate about keeping
theatre alive in Durban and KZN and passing on his fantastic skills to the
youth. He is renowned for his great works and has also been honoured with a
Living Legend Award from eThekwini for his contribution to Arts and Culture in
KZN!
Performances take place at the Holy Family
Parish in Newlands East in Durban on August 24 at 14h00 and 19h30 and on August
