Over 120 speakers from over 30 countries
will be in Durban attending The Music Imbizo 2019, from August 28 to 31 at the
Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The Music Imbizo is an international music
business conference and exhibition that is held in Durban (South Africa) during
the last week of August. The conference collects various music industry
stakeholders under one roof to map new and exciting ways forward for music
industry in the continent. It is a platform to exhibit, network, share
expertise and knowledge.
The Music Imbizo is a continuously growing
platform, and its growth is directly proportional to the understanding of the
music business environment in the African continent. In its 11th year, and
having hosted some distinguished names in the global music business like
Seymour Stein (Vice President of Warner Bros, USA), Aibee Abidoye (GM:
Chocolate City, Nigeria), Dr. Sipho Sithole (Co-Founder: Native Rhythms), Mr.
Keith Harris OBE (Manager: Stevie Wonder, UK) and many others … The Music
Imbizo is still pushing the boundaries and expanding the knowledge base in the
continent.
2019 is special, as the conference has
partnered with EVERYONE.
It is clear that collaborations and
partnerships are important to the growth of the conference. eThekwini
Municipality (Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture) has featured
consistently over the past few years. The national department of Arts and
Culture is back for the second year. BET and MTVBase join an impressive list of
media partners that cover digital, radio and print, which include Gagasi FM,
