DUT’s annual Children’s Theatre Festival runs
from September 11 to 13, 2019, and will present a double dose of fun-filled
lessons and exciting tales, suitable for all ages. This year’s original work is
written and directed by Lee-Anne Naicker and performed by a talented cast of
first year drama students.
The show kicks off with Story-time, where siblings, Andile and
Sandile come across a deliciously mischievous house while Red Riding Hood
encounters a sinister wolf. Story-Time
is narrated in vernacular and the delightful characters have many valuable
lessons to share.
Audiences will then be enchanted by Cinderella 4.0. This techno-savvy
adaptation is narrated in English by Fakespeare and his side-kick, SomChizi. Cinderella 4.0 is spiced up with
semi-robotic sisters, a sparkling mobile device and sweet magical moments.
Join the Festival and see how the
excitement and mayhem unfold in Story-time
and Cinderella 4.0.
