(Mark
Mulder & Annie Robinson)
There’s only one Fawlty Towers – and there’s no other married couple quite like
Basil and Sybil.
Fawlty
Flowers!, coming to Rhumbelow Theatre at Tina’s
Hotel in Kloof from October 4 to 6, 2019, is pure, delicious Fawlty fun.
The BBC television sitcom from the 1970’s,
voted the best British TV series of all time, has fans all over the world,
including Annie Robinson and Mark Mulder.
Confirmed Fawlty fans since the ‘70s, gifted South African actors Robinson
and Mulder – now get the chance to share the uniquely Fawlty experience with KZN audiences in their newly-extended two-hander comedy
show, Fawlty Flowers!
Devised and directed by Paul Spence, Fawlty Flowers! promises fun from first
word to last. The much put-upon Basil, bossy Sybil, eccentric waiter Manuel and
pretty Polly are all there – and the audience suddenly get the distinct feeling
that they are guests in the dining room of the infamous Torquay hotel.
A gifted comedienne Robinson is one of
South Africa’s most accomplished actresses. When not on TV and movie screens, Mulder
flies hot air balloons! Spence was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company
for seven years. He has worked in theatres around the world; from London to
Copenhagen, Vienna to Tokyo!
