On November 23, 2019, Umlazi Mega City
hosted the final round of the 2nd annual Mega Talent Search competition,
looking to provide a supportive platform and showcase local talent from the
community.
Finally, once the judges’ results were
tabulated winners per category were announced from the 38 finalists who
participated:
In 5th place was the soulful R&B
singer, Nkosingiphile Cele who took home R3,000 cash prize. 4th place was Afro
Soul singer, Noluthando Msomi who received R5,000. 3rd place Thobelani Unju
Lwenzinkondlo (the poet) walked away with R7,000.
Hip Hop singer and rapper Siyabonga Mfeka,
known commonly as Gwaza, was this year’s runner up and walked away with R10,000.
The 2019 Mega Talent Search Winner walking away with R15,000 was Twilight Dance
Crew (Nkosinathi Nxele, Sinethemba Ngcobo and Nqubeko Ndlovu).

General Manager) thanked all sponsors and supporters of the competition from Umlazi Mega City’s tenants: Mega Super
Spar, Msinsi Travel, Vodacom KZN, Signature Cosmetics, Soviet as well as Gagazi
FM, Isolezwe and Intokozo FM. “We couldn’t have put this very special talent
search event without their support”, she added before announcing and
congratulating the top five.
