IMBEWU FESTIVAL

(Right: Thabile Nyathi & Lynn Willem from “Flames Of Another World”)

Imbewu festival happens annually and it caters for young emerging writers, directors and actors. “Imbewu” simply means seed, and the organisers take this festival as a platform that will implant potential to the seed (generations) of the art. They want to encourage youth to take initiative of studying the art, because they believe that the most of the young artist lack knowledge and youth with knowledge deserves equals to bright future for arts.

This festival aims to empower and uplift emerging writers as well as the directors and actors. It is also a platform for artist to fundraise for the following year National Arts Festival if they taking their productions there.
