Participants and volunteers get ready to
enjoy a glorious festive season day-long Peace and Living Green Festival at the
beautiful Inanda Dam, on Sunday December 8, 2019, from 12h00. The pre-Christmas
festival allows visitors to browse for authentic gift ideas, healthy food
options, recycled / up-cycled items, decorations and festive treats.
Hosted by Wushwini Pan African Centre, the
festival will feature organic food court, eco fashion exhibits, hands on DIY
workshops, live music, video art, organic beer and wine garden, presentations
by green and sustainable businesses and organisations, Kids Green Zone, good
green deeds corner, crafts corner and theatre; and a display of organic
vegetables and fruits from the farmers and rural community youth and women.
Performers include Professor, DJ Boonu,
Ernie Smith, Madala Kunene, Mbuso Khoza, Naima Kay, Natalie Rungan, UKZN Jazz
Ensemble, Ralf Gum, Abanqobi, Amahle, King Nexo, Mnqobi Yazo, Mxolisi Mbali,
Sheila the Blue Note and Simtha Mtolo.
The festival will allow NO single-use
plastic, no plastic straws, no polystyrene.
Tickets at the door: Children under 12
years free; children 12 years to16 years are R50; adults are R100. Bring picnic
chairs, rugs and baskets. Cooler boxes welcome – R50 charge per cooler box.
