WUSHWINI PAN AFRICAN CENTRE SUMMER FEVER 2019


Wushwini Pan African Centre, spearheaded by its founder, Jerry Pooe, will host its summer holiday programme which kicks off with Christmas Carols Under the Stars, a Christmas show presented by Numerous Award winners, Clermont Chorale, an evening of gorgeous music depicting the prophesies about the coming of Messiah, the repertoire boast of advent hymns and traditional Carols from an assortment of composers, It will be spiced by unique arrangements of gospel, Zionist and folklore hits.

The Clermont chorale will be conducted by Letlogonole Moaisi, accompanied by Nathan Muleba and various soloists; Bongani Mthombeni, Nonkosi Ngqobe, Rueben Mbonambi, Thami Buthelezi, Priya Ndlovu, Banele Khanya and Suprice Msimango. The show will be a reminder of the importance of celebrating Christmas with songs such as Oh Come Oh Come Emmanuel, Ave Maria, Hark The Herald Angels Sing, We wish You a Merry Christmas and many more with narration of biblical scripture, the show will be on December 14 at 18h00, the admission will be R50 per person and R20 for children.

The programme will be followed by Imvumo competition on December 22 from 12 noon open to all imvumo groups around Durban where the winner will take home R10,000 and recording of full CD, second price will be R5,000 with a single recording and the third price will receive R3,000, the winner will have a rotating trophy with trophies for number two and three, the joining fee is R500, for registration forms and enquiries contact Zethu Phoswa Khumalo on 072 475 3072

This is the first Wushwini Imvumo Championship that will be held every year in December before the competitors go back to their different rural homes, the entrance will be R20 per person.

This exciting cultural programme will be at Wushwini Pan African Centre, KwaNgcolosi overlooking the scenic Inanda Dam surrounded by the mountains in KwaZulu-Natal’s famed Valley of 1000 Hills, a real showcase of beauty echoing that Durban has more, offering best African Cuisine. The summer fever is supported by Ethekwini Municipality, Arts and Living Cultures.
