FAMILY THERAPY AT THE SNEDDON

(Aaron McIlroy & Lisa Bobbert)

Put yourself in the hands of MacBob’s master comedians Aaron and Lisa, as they navigate the rocky shoals and hazardous terrain of life on the home front!

Family. The place where individuals are nurtured, grown, treasured and driven crazy! It’s never been harder to run a functional family. Everyone knows that only family members get to push the buttons that send us round the bend! With this in mind, a special treat is in store for comedy lovers, as Durban’s iconic stars of MacBob Productions, Aaron McIlroy and Lisa Bobbert, present their latest musical comedy romp, Family Therapy, at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre, on UKZN’s Howard College Campus (Durban), from March 4 to 15.

Yes, Aaron and Lisa are once again at the top of their game, as they take you on a wild dive into the world of the family, and investigate what makes them tick or explode. These comedic legends boldly go where billions have been before, and hilariously investigate the do’s and don’ts of living together in this strange arrangement we call family.

Family Therapy guarantees to have you and your loved ones singing along and screaming with laughter, not yelling at each other. Mayhem prevails as the audience renews ties with MacBob’s’ classic gallery of loopy principals, notably Bobbert’s overly assertive Charmaine, and her sorely put-upon hubby, Bruce, along with several unforgettable newcomers to the scene who will have you falling out of your seats.

Seasoned thespian and theatre critic, Barry Meehan, reviewing a recent try-out run of the new musical comedy, found Family Therapy “Hugely entertaining, with impeccable comedy timing, as Durban’s madcap couple poke fun (and a good few truths) at families and their problems.  This laugh-a-minute, two-hour romp from this supremely talented twosome, is their best show to date.”

So don’t delay! Get booking to secure your seats. Directed and choreographed by comedy ace Daisy Spencer, Family Therapy runs at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre from March 4 to 15, and has a suggested age restriction of no under 10’s.
